General Description
This course provides a comprehensive practical framework for understanding and applying the principles of business ethics, anti-corruption, and integrity in the workplace, with a focus on how to professionally handle situations involving conflicts of interest, bribery and corruption risks, hospitality and gifts, external parties, misconduct reports, and sensitive ethical decisions.
The course focuses on developing the trainee’s ability to objectively analyze professional situations based on evidence, and to distinguish between an ethical issue, a policy violation, a breach of compliance requirements, fraud, corruption, and bribery, while avoiding unsupported accusations or conclusions. It also addresses identifying stakeholders and their interests, and reviewing relevant requirements and policies before making a decision.
The course also covers building a culture of integrity within the organization through the role of senior leadership, Tone at the Top, Speak-Up culture, and mechanisms for handling reports in a manner that ensures confidentiality, impartiality, and protection from retaliation in accordance with applicable policies and requirements.
It also focuses on assessing corruption and bribery risks associated with third parties, gifts and hospitality, and unusual payments, and selecting appropriate response mechanisms such as disclosure, approval, recusal, and escalation.
